3 Hobbies That Can Make You a Better Gardener

Diversity makes our life interesting. Developing comprehensively gives us a reason to not get tired of the things that we love and never get bored with it. These are the hobbies that will not let you burn out in gardening.

Physics

Studying fundamental laws of nature that dictate the course of every single event in the universe will actually make you better at most of the things. Wikihow wrote a detailed article for beginners on how to learn physics. The article and YouTube physics videos can serve you as a great starting point for breaking “physics is boring” myth once and for all.

One of the greatest quotes by legendary Laureate of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry Ernest Rutherford stated: “All science is either physics or stamp collecting.” Which basically means that physics will also serve you as a key and as a main directory of explanations in other branches of science. Such as chemistry and biology.

Effects on Gardening:
Physics will make you more aware of what is going on in the world, which includes on your garden. It will make you avoid making silly mistakes like: selecting wrong places for planting, having a poor watering technique, digging clay soil when it’s wet, accidentally killing your plants by adding too much fertilizer, etc.

Makrame

What makes the art of weaving one of the best tools for exercising patience is its visibility. Unlike physics which people perceive as something abstract, macrame will serve you as a great example of causal relationship. As you start to progress with this weaving form of meditation you will start to notice how it improves your ability to hold frustration under control and stay concentrated.

Effects on Gardening:
Your plants will no longer be at the ground level, since you will become predisposed to have them in the air in hanging position. In addition, whenever you fix and fixate something with a paracord or a rope, you will always see that the aesthetically pleasing glimpse of art, rather than regular, inaccurate, typical knot. These small details will make your garden look more unusual and artistic, which will only serve you as inspiration to be your best at gardening.

Woodworking

Work with wood has always been a part of successful gardening. This craft can serve you as one of the main “forget about the rest of the world” hobbies. It is never too late for anyone to get started in woodworking. Whether it is a small or a big project, you may find it as one of the most effective methods to clear your mind.

Effects on Gardening:
The results of your woodworking hobby can bring you planter boxes, planter benches, greenhouses, porch swings, pallet wood garden walkway and anything you could imagine. Plus, always have plenty of wood chips. You can use for fertilizing or stratification purposes. So that your garden not only look great, but have much greater chances for the tremendous harvest as well.
