New Year’s Gift Ideas for Nursing Students

With the finals and holidays approaching, the nursing student in your life may feel very close to blowing their fuse. As this is the season of giving, and this lovely student is already giving themselves to the world simply by pursuing the nursing career path, it’s time to give them something and bring a smile to their face. So, what’s the ideal gift for a student in the nursing field?

A ”Hold Everything” Bag

Every student carries a small workstation with them wherever they go. And nursing students tend to have a lot more essentials. It’s not just the books, but the necessary tools, sanitary necessities, change of clothes, and so on. This is why you can make the student in your life happy by giving them a nice and roomy bag that will surely hold everything they need. Fortunately, oversized bags are very fashionable nowadays, which allows you to pick a stylish-looking one with ease.

Lap Desk for the Lazies

If the practical approach is still far away, and the student is still focusing on listening to online classes the most, why not make the Zoom experience more comfortable for them? In the end, those lazy mornings can easily turn into lazy afternoons without missing a class. This is all possible thanks to the smart innovation of a lap desk that can hold a laptop (and coffee mug) in bed. So, no need to get up for classes in the morning if that’s been an issue so far.

A Much-Needed Sleep Booster

Anything with coffee is a great holiday gift for nursing students as they need that extra energy during the day to stay alert and focused. However, it’s also crucial that they get a proper rest at night. So if they have trouble falling asleep, you might want to surprise them with a sound machine. And in case they have a roommate who often has to stay up late, noise-canceling headphones and a sleep mask can do wonders. On the other hand, if they constantly mention how uncomfortable their bed is, look into body pillows that provide healthy back support.

A Sandwich Maker for a Quick Bite

We are all guilty of skipping breakfast, and especially students. But breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it can provide the necessary energy for the day of learning. If they typically have to rush out of the door when they wake up, the student will definitely come to appreciate the nifty little gadget known as a sandwich maker. Not only does it make sandwiches extra fast, but it also allows the user to experiment with the ingredients, from eggs and cheese to vegetables and meat.

Fashionable Scrubs

Why let the nursing student you love and care for deal with the poor-quality scrubs when you can give them something that’s more fashionable and durable? Scrubs tops, lab coats, pants, and jackets should fit properly just like any other garment. What’s more, you can also choose different colors and even opt for those with cute patterns.

Mason Jar Herb Garden

After long days of looking at the screen and books and running around the hospital, every nursing student needs a mindful break. Gardening is the perfect way to relax and unwind as well as rest the eyes. However, most students don’t have enough room for their own garden. This is why the so-called mason jar herb garden set is the perfect gift for dorms and small apartments. They can easily grow sage, oregano, mint, basil, parsley, cilantro, etc.

A Next Year’s Planner

No one should ever be without a planner, and especially not nursing students. This is a must-have for organizing one’s time properly, which has become more important than ever when students have to juggle online classes and practical training, not to mention social life. Furthermore, it’s said that writing things down helps with concentration and focus, and it serves as a mindful mental exercise. There are plenty of interesting planner designs to choose from, and it will definitely be a well-appreciated gift.

Can’t Go Wrong with Loungewear

Finally, if there’s one gift that every single student will welcome wholeheartedly, it’s undoubtedly loungewear. Joggers and sweatshirts are the first that come to mind, but why stop there? With everyone being stuck at home most of the time, it’s important to feel comfortable but also avoid looking too slouchy as this can only cause a drop in productivity and motivation. In that sense, top-quality loungewear, really cute pajamas, a fashionable and comfy robe, stylish slippers, and similar can all brighten up the student’s mood during those days when they don’t have to leave their room.

Use the holidays to spend more time with your loved ones, if possible. In the end, there’s no greater gift than the love and care we receive from our friends and family.
