Uses For Your Concrete Garage You Haven’t Considered

The narrow-minded thought that garages are to park your car, and to only park your car are silly. It is extremely common in this day and age to use your garage for a completely different function, and with so many creative, innovative uses, you’d be silly to be to not take advantage of them.

There are a few things you need to do before you go ahead with a garage conversion – check with your local council as to whether you have all the correct permits, check with the neighbours to see if is ok, and decide with the family as to what the space will be used for. If you’re looking for a top-quality concrete garage provided to you by a friendly team, give the team a call at Dencroft Garages and they will be happy to help.

Here are a few things you could choose from:

Man/Woman Cave

Everyone needs somewhere to get away when things get a bit too much – a place they can close the door, relax and forget about everything. The man or woman cave don’t have any specific requirements, it is simply a place where you feel comfortable and can enjoy yourself. Many opt for an entertainment system, a few chairs and the occasional table for pool, table tennis etc. If you do opt for a quality entertainment system, make sure you have a good security system as well as insulation.

Tool haven

Plan a space in your garage, whether it be a corner or the full area to store, organise, clean and repair tools – especially large machinery tools such as a lawn mower or a saw. Not only would it be handy to have a space to store these items, but to have a space in which you could use them – set aside a space to work on projects or a simple bit of DIY.

If you need help organising the space in your garage, have a read of this article.

Play area

Rather than having toys all over the floor, furniture and tables around the house, why not transform your garage in to a play area for your kids?

Invest in panels, baby gates and any other safety objects to create safe boundaries for your kids, so they can enjoy the large space to play in, whilst you’re not worrying about the, getting hurt.

Office space

Not as creative as the previously mentioned options, but possibly the most useful. If you work from home, a home office in your garage could be the saviour to help separate your personal and work life – since you work from home, you may feel you are never away from work.

Just like your man or woman cave, it is vital that you have good security as you may have important documents, files and computer systems in there that need to be protected.

The office could also be used for your children to work in, when they are in their student years.
